Otosclerosis in Older Adults: Indications Beyond Chronological Age

Based on the article by Redivo et al., this study analyzes stapedectomy in older adults with otosclerosis. The evidence indicates that chronological age alone is not a contraindication for the procedure, although cochlear reserve, the progression of sensorineural hearing loss, and the possible need for complementary hearing rehabilitation should be taken into account.
