Abstract

Since 2005 a paradigm shift occured in facial reconstruction: Amiens, France, successfully held the first face transplant. Since then, several questions were carried out, including the technical challenge, the immunological management and the ethical dilemma. The present work is a review of the published literature. History, implications, results to date and future were analized. It also assesses the current status and feasibility in Argentina
