Abstract
Long before reaching its 150th anniversary, the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires had already attained a position of utmost prestige among Argentine medical institutions.
Thanks to the vision and work of those who conceived the hospital and “made it happen,” the constant drive of its professionals, and strong financial and strategic institutional support, our Hospital has fostered a genuine sense of belonging, an atmosphere of broad intellectual freedom, and unique conditions for the development not only of the most prominent areas such as healthcare, teaching, and research, but also of a wide variety of artistic, cultural, and knowledge-based expressions.
Meanwhile, the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires Journal has for more than twenty years carried out the task of reporting primarily on scientific work, but also on other areas of humanistic interest to the professionals of our Institution. Despite facing difficult periods, including debates over the editorial line and even the continuation of the publication itself, it is important to highlight that, thanks to the effort of those who served on the various editorial committees, the Journal has maintained commendable regularity and continuity.
Today, the Editorial Committee is being renewed, and the responsibility of proposing an editorial project requires analyzing the current reality and envisioning a possible future for the Journal.
