Abstract

Choosing an elective cesarean opens a dilemma between the right to decide and professional responsibility. Recent evidence shows neonatal and maternal benefits in specific contexts, particularly when planning for few children. The debate requires balancing rights, risks, and professional responsibility in making informed decisions.
