Abstract
Malevolence consists of performing acts that damage in severe and ethically inexcusable manner, the welfare of the other. Three factors can induce its appearance: excessive selfishness, lack of empathy and inner weakness. The work The invisible cities by Italo Calvino is a good opportunity to reflect on the malevolence and how it can be neutralized
